A
NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD young man, Prince Appah has been murdered in cold
blood with his intestines gushing out by a wee smoker, popularly known
as Rasta at Kwahu Mpraeso in the Kwahu South district of the Eastern
region.
The deceased was stabbed to death by his assailant around
10pm after a group of young men, allegedly led by the suspect, Rasta,
decided to avenge one George who they fought hours before the incident
over a piece of cigarette.
Information gathered indicated that
Rasta and his brother, in the evening went to buy pieces of cigarette
from a 51-year-old woman; however, misunderstanding ensued between them
and the woman over which George came in to intervene.
The
intervention by George did not go down well with the suspect and brother
who threw stone at George leading to an open fight in which the two
were severely beaten.
In an attempt to revenge, Rasta and the
brother with few others reorganized themselves in the evening at around
10pm to attack George in his house. However on their way, they met the
deceased who was a friend to George and ordered him and a friend to
kneel down.
According to the friend, Prince’s assailant stabbed him in the stomach without any provocation and vanished into the bush.
The
others also fled when the friend raised the alarm and called for help.
The Mpraeso police have confirmed the story and said the body of the
deceased has been deposited at the Atibie Government hospital for
autopsy.
Amadu Nashiru, an accomplice has been arrested and put on remand, pending further investigations. |
