Lil Wayne reminds America’s teachers not to use his lyrics in junior high classrooms
Rapper Lil Wayne has advised the world that teachers should not use the rhymes he busts as a teaching tool.
The admonition became necessary
after an unidentified eighth-grade English teacher at The Charter School
of Boynton Beach in South Florida was suspended earlier this month for
assigning the rapper’s raunchy, f-bomb-filled lyrics as required
homework.
“I’d never be embarrassed by anything I say because I say it and I mean it,” Lil Wayne said in an ESPN interview, according to HotNewHipHop.com.
“But I don’t think that kids—I mean, I don’t think that you should be
trying to teach it any way to kids because I don’t record it and say it
for kids to listen to it.”
Lil Wayne then sagely drew what
he views as an important distinction between minor children hearing his
songs as a matter of course and teachers assigning his songs as
homework.
“So, not that it’s okay for them
to hear it, but if they hear it, then so be it. They hear it. But when
you trying to teach them to listen to it, that’s a difference and I
don’t try to teach them that. I just—I do what I do. And I don’t think
that would be right for you to try and teach kids what I’m saying,” Lil
Wayne clarified.
The Boynton Beach teacher had
printed out the lyrics of the song “Six Foot Seven Foot” on sheets of
paper for eighth-grade students, asking students to underline instances
of figurative language. (RELATED: Eighth grade teacher assigns f-bomb-filled, misogynist Lil Wayne lyrics)
“Students were having trouble
grasping the concepts of literary devices such as: pun, simile,
metaphor,” explained the school’s principal, Wayne Owens (who likes to
call himself the “headmaster”).
Owens notes that the teacher had
previously introduced Edgar Allen Poe and Shakespeare. And when that
didn’t work, it was time to turn to the poetry of Lil Wayne, the rapper
behind such tunes as “Blunt Blowin,” “Fuck tha World” and “Pussy
Monster.”
Here’s a sample stanza from “6 Foot 7 Foot”:So misunderstood but what’s a world without enigma? Two bitches at the same time, synchronized swimmers
Got the girl twisted ’cause she open when you twist her
Never met the bitch but I fuck her like I missed her

Michael Carter, the flagship artist of Cash Money Records and the CEO of
Young Money Entertainment.
The rapper has faced a number of
legal challenges in recent years including copyright infringement
lawsuits. His street cred also includes a fairly long rap sheet relating
to a proclivity to possess illegal guns and drugs.
